About our Competitive Dance Program
PURE Academy's award winning competitive programming provides opportunities for dancers at every stage - from first time competitors to those training at a full-time professional level.
Being on a competitive team drives personal achievement, perseverance and builds a strong sense of belonging. It acknowledges the strength of a student’s skill, and recognizes their capacity to grow, pushing them to become highly skilled dancers and performers.
At PURE Academy there are 4 training level options for our competitive dance teams. The time commitment for our competitive dancers range from a few hours of instruction and practice per week for novice dancers up to 12 plus hours per week for our highest level of competition teams. Some of PURE Academy’s competitive teams require an audition.

Competitive Mini Team
At Pure Dance Academy, our Mini Competitive Team offers young dancers their first exciting step into the world of competitive dance. Designed as an introductory program, this team provides the perfect balance of challenge and fun for dancers who are focused, passionate, and eager to grow. With a strong emphasis on foundational technique, performance skills, and teamwork, our minis train together regularly, preparing for competitions while building the discipline and confidence needed for long-term success in dance.
An audition for the Mini competitive team is required. If you have any questions about the program, audition process, etc. please contact us.
More than just a team, the Mini Competitive program is a community. Dancers build strong friendships, learn the value of commitment, and develop a sense of belonging as they bond with teammates and coaches. This program serves as the cornerstone of our competitive pathway, offering a nurturing environment where dancers are supported in their goals to one day join our Competitive Crew or Company teams.

PURE Academy’s award-winning Competitive Company Dance Teams, available at our Chatham and Lakeshore locations, are an incredible way for dancers to experience skill development at a very challenging level.
Being on a competitive team drives personal achievement, perseverance and builds a strong sense of belonging. It acknowledges the strength of a student’s skill, and recognizes their capacity to grow, pushing them to become highly skilled dancers and performers.
Entrance to the Competitive Company Team is through an audition process that takes place in May and June of each year. If you have any questions about the audition process, please contact us.
Competitive dancers train intensively between 7 and 12+ hours per week, depending on their age. Training focuses on developing new skills, refining technique, and learning choreography.
Teams travel to compete nationally and internationally four to five times each season, attending a minimum of two intensive dance workshops.
This program requires a significant time and financial commitment from both the student and their family, but it offers an exceptional opportunity for those able to meet its expectations.
