Attentive Listening
Paying close attention to one another's expression of ideas, opinions and feelings, checking for understanding and letting others know they have been heard.
Appreciation—No Put Downs
Treating others kindly and with respect, stating appreciation of unique qualities, gifts, skills and contributions, offering apologies, and avoiding negative remarks, name calling, hateful gestures or behaviour.
Mutual Respect
Treating others as you would like to be treated, affirming the value and uniqueness of each person, recognizing and appreciating individual and cultural differences, and offering feedback that encourages growth.
The Right to Participate
Aiming to actively engage in all settings, finding every opportunity to learn, and observing quietly when not actively participating while remembering that we get out of an activity what we put into it.
