The goal in this class is to help build a well-rounded, confident, creative and able child.

Class Title: Acting Junior Recreational

Student Age: Ages 9 to 12

This curriculum will touch on the basics of stage direction, and stage blocking skills such as how to fall, eat, enter, exit and stay open to the audience. They will use these new skills to create realistic scenes together. Memorization, rehearsal processes and developing scenes are all skills that will be a main focus on this age group. Classes will also contain many specific units on various skills, such as introductory lessons on motivation, character development and emotions. Fun activities such as lip synchs, and confidence-building drama exercises are also a large portion of this great class.

Class Title: Acting Teen Recreational

Student Age: Ages 13 to 18

Teen Acting briefly touches on all areas blocking and stage direction, especially for children beginning drama for the first time. Then the curriculum will move toward monologue studies, including some memorization of choral work and even a little Shakespeare! Monologue studies and some scene studies will focus on increasingly intense emotional work and character development, allowing the student to really embrace a role. Monologues will be used to practice audition scenarios as well. Improvisation and comedy will also be studied in Teen Rec Acting. Finally, every class will consist of confidence building exercises to create a level of comfort and security within the classroom. Skills learned in this class will help teens gain self-confidence in many other areas of their lives.
