Workshops in the Performing Arts
PURE Academy offers customizable, affordable, performing arts workshops in dance, music, and drama to elementary students in both the Lambton-Kent District School Board and the St. Clair Catholic Board, as well as private schools in the Chatham-Kent area. Our programs are very flexible, ranging from single workshops in one discipline to several multi-disciplinary workshops.
Experience our Outstanding Facility
Workshops take place at PURE Academy, located in Chatham, and take full advantage of our our outstanding performing arts facility. Studios spaces are equipped with sprung flooring systems, mirrored walls and professional stereo equipment, giving your students a safe and engaging environment to practice their dance technique. Music workshops take place in a studio conducive to carrying sound and producing beautiful resonance with access to live and recorded accompaniment. Acting workshops are based in our state-of-the-art Black Box Theatre equipped with professional lighting and sound, a high-definition video projector, and a stage and tiered seating for audience members. Our facility can comfortably and safely accommodate up to three classes at one time.
Ontario Curriculum-based Instruction
All of our dance, music, and drama workshops, led by our highly trained instructors, are based on the Ontario Curriculum, follow the Creative Process, and provide teachers with formative and summative assessment opportunities. Activities to be completed before your class's visit create anticipation and provide a foundation for learning, while our follow-up tasks allow students to reflect on their learning. We can even customize your workshop to match with units of study across the curriculum.
